What to Do About Malpractice

Do not speak in any detail to someone representing your opponent in the case (attorney, insurance agent, hospital administrator, doctor, etc).

b

Do not sign any papers from someone representing your opponent in the case (attorney, insurance agent, hospital administrator, doctor, etc) until they have been reviewed by your attorney.

c

Do not discuss your intention to speak to an attorney, and ask that future contact by the opponent’s representative be scheduled by mail.

d

If the injured person has died, the family will need to decide who will be appointed administrator for purposes of pursuing a wrongful death claim.

If you think you have an ethical grievance with your attorney, contact your local Bar Association for information and ethics grievance assistance forms. (See Columbus Bar links in "Where to Read More").
