Why did you become an attorney?

I became an attorney because I wanted to help people. I also was attracted to the practice of law because of the challenge it presented, not only in learning the book law, but applying it to real life situations.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?

As an adoptive parent and having personally been through the divorce process, I am better able to personally empathize with my clients who are going through similar experiences.  However, because every case and every client is different, the experience that I learn from representing each individual client gives me additional experience and better helps me represent my next client.

What made you choose your primary specialty focus of law?

I chose family relations law, including my adoption practice, because I enjoyed working with people.  This are of the law allows me the opportunity to help my clients navigate a myriad of life crises.  It allows me to do what I wanted to do when I became an attorney, which was to help people.

What makes your law firm unique?

I practice in multiple areas, including adoption, family law, personal injury, custody and surrogacy – all areas wherein I represent individuals.  I have won multiple awards, including 25 Top Columbus Women Lawyers, Super Lawyers and  Best Lawyers Consumer Guide.
