Why did you become an attorney?

I became an attorney because I have always been concerned with issues of justice, I enjoy serving others, and I believe that I should try to leave the world a better place.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?

I was a classroom and university teacher for almost a decade before I became an attorney.  I find that those skills transfer to lawyering quite well.  In addition, I have been a family law client, and I understand the stresses and anxieties that are often present in those situations.
