Why did you become an attorney?

In March of 1969, while still in undergraduate school, I got a job in a law office. I loved the work and believed I had some talent in the law, so I pursued it.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?

Family experiences have helped a great deal. I have tried thousands of cases of 35 years.

What made you choose your primary specialty focus of law?

I enjoy the family dynamic and enjoy protecting children and defending against unreasonable demands made often in family law cases.

What makes your law firm unique?

My firm, although large, is more like a smaller law firm. The people here are nice, genteel, hardworking, and smart.

Describe your ideal client.

Children's issues are of the utmost importance. Absent a compelling reason to not do so, children need the opportunity to develop a safe, loving relationship with each parent. The ideal client listens to and follows my advice. My experience allows me to envision long-term consequences, not just short term effects.

Describe your personal interest and hobbies.

I love travel, golf, and home improvement. I am an avid Ohio State fan, being an alumnus.
