Why did you become an attorney?

I wanted to work in a courtroom representing clients as their trial attorney. My colleagues describe me as a natural in the courtroom. I also wanted a challenging career that would allow me to grow and develop a specialized skill that I could use throughout my life.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?

My experience in the U.S. Army, from basic training at Fort Knox, ROTC and Airborne School, through my service on Active Duty, gave me the discipline to work through the tough demands of practicing law. My trial work since starting my own practice in 2000 taught me the ability to handle any type of felony, misdemeanor or DUI/OVI matter. There is no substitute for experience.

What made you choose your primary specialty focus of law?

I focus on Felony and Misdemeanor Criminal Defense including OVI or Impaired Driving representation . My Criminal and OVI trial experience allow me to get into the courtroom daily and let me use my advanced training and skills. I started my trial work in 1996 when I was a prosecutor stationed in Korea for the U.S. Army. My felony practice is the major part of my focus and it gives me the most challenging cases. My extensive felony trial experience pays dividends for my clients in less serious matters like OVI.  My OVI cases are technical and you need to practice in this area to be proficient.  However, the complex nature of felony trials are very good training for handling other types of criminal defense. If I can try a complex murder trial effectively, then I am that that much more effective in a OVI or misdemeanor trial. These experiences make me a better attorney in my other areas of practice. I am a firm believer that preparation is the key to success in any courtroom. I promise each client that I will be the most prepared attorney in the courtroom.

What makes your law firm unique?

Individual attention for my clients and a dedication to accomplishing their goals. When you pick my office to represent you, I will handle your case from beginning to end and not just assign it to another attorney or law clerk.  I hand picked my associate, trained him and I oversee his work when he is assisting me with my clients.  I am available whenever my clients need me to help them. There is no such thing as a "late" telephone call from a client or person that needs my help. My office telephone is answered 24 hours a day and I can be reached anytime on my cellular telephone; (614) 657-6477.

Describe your ideal client.

A person that leaves my office knowing their case is in good hands.

Describe your personal interest and hobbies.

I am a reformed golf addict. I spend my free time with my wife and family.  When time allows I like to take one of my cars to a car show.

Describe your charitable activities.

I regulary contribute to local charities, personally and through my office.
