Why did you become an attorney?

I enjoy helping people and wanted to offer legal solutions that would improve people’s quality of life. It is very rewarding to help people get a fresh start when they are facing serious financial and family law problems such as a divorce. Often, they have no where else to turn. Many times when we file a Chapter 13 on behalf of a client, we can strip a second mortgage and treat it as an unsecured debt. In addition, we have successfully obtained repossessed vehicles that have not yet been sold by the creditor. As an attorney I am committed to protecting and defending the rights of others.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?

The pro-bono work I have done at the Neighborhood Clinic on E. Main Street has given me an understanding of the problems facing many people.

What made you choose your primary specialty focus of law?

I majored in Sociology at The Ohio State University and worked as a psychiatric social worker while attending Capital Law School. The family unit and the problems that everyday people encounter have always interested me. Bankruptcy and family law are areas of law where I feel I can offer a solution that will help to rebuild my client’s future.

What makes your law firm unique?

The solid reputation of Bergman & Yiangou has been built by providing exceptional legal representation for our clients in the Columbus area for over 40 years. Each case is unique and each client important to us as we work together to find the best solution. We return phone calls and try to be available to our clients as needed. The first legal consultation is always free and our rates are very affordable. We have three convenient locations to better serve the Columbus area: - Clintonville 3805 N. High Street #201 - Reynoldsburg 2020 Brice Road #125 - Columbus 3099 Sullivant Avenue

Describe your ideal client.

I enjoy working with clients who are looking for an equitable solution to their financial and family problems. To keep their costs down, it is helpful for clients to be organized and reliable.

Describe your personal interest and hobbies.

I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family. My wife, two daughters and I are avid golfers and play together as frequently as we can. My daughters played on the Ohio University golf team. We also raise and show Havanese dogs, a toy breed that originally came to the US from Havana, Cuba.

Describe your charitable activities.

I have been involved with the Credit Abuse Resistance Education (C.A.R.E.) program which helps to educate students on the basics of maintaining a budgeting and responsibly using a credit card. I am also on the juvenile appointment list where I represent juveniles and parents in court delinquency matters regarding abuse, neglect and dependency.
